This year, Gulf Mechanical participated in ‘Big 5 - 2011’ with its two core brands Bison and WD-40. Big 5 is one of the important exhibitions in Dubai’s calendar and attracts people from Construction and Infrastructure Industry. This year the show attracted a better crowd in terms of quality compared to the previous year. It also reflected the visitors’ increased interest in the products.

Bison was very prominent at the stand with its Griffon Range of products for professional piping contractors. Major trader locomotives like Bison Kit and Montage Kit were also displayed. The introduction of Polymax interested some users and the company intends to launch this product range in UAE market in 2012.

On November 22, 2011, SKF and Gulf Mechanical hosted a half day seminar for its major customers at Le Meriden Dubai. The presentation was for 3 Core Platforms in SKF portfolio of products and services catering to all industry segments. Platform experts were invited to make multimedia presentations on topics such as Precision Laser Alignment, SKF Magnetic Bearing Technology and Improved Self Aligning Ball Bearing.

The Seminar was in line with SKF’s philosophy of sharing its knowledge to end users so that the products are used with an optimum level of reliability and extended life. The event harvested an overwhelming response from customers and several segment giants such as DP World, Dubai Dry-docks, DEWA, Dubai Municipality and Cement Mills. Overall, this interactive participation displayed the demand for knowledge as well as brand value for SKF.
